Jim was one of the founders of NAF and has spent many a year in a lawn chair at the hanger either waiting for a friend to fly with or just enjoying the time between flights. An accomplished pilot both on two and three axis Jim could be found most flyable days either in the air or helping out around the field. Jim was also a highly regarded RC modeler with the respect of the local RC community. Known by the endearment HawkBait by his friends Jim was a fountain of knowledge at NAF. Sadly Jim passed away a couple of years ago but will be fondly missed by those that knew him. I often hear him in my mind when the turbulence is up "it's all good practice" and when we landed him calling howe to pass on the message "the eagle has landed". I am sure the sky is always blue and the winds are light everyday now for you Jim! |
